Resolute Ventures is a lead seed and “pre-seed” investor focused on backing and connecting a community of Founders who share an entrepreneurial spirit and energy. Every year they host an offsite retreat for their founders. In planning this three day retreat, we learned that founders connecting with founders is a powerful force. Without the pressures of a work environment, our guests relaxed, opened up to each other and interacted on a very high level. Nobody misses this thoughtfully produced retreat.
It felt like a movie.
A floating crown.
Chess grandmasters.
Living queens.
Marcel Duchamp reflected on mirrored walls.
A room filled with world champions, founders, investors, and leaders from across sport, business, and culture.
An impromptu match between Woman Grandmaster Martha Fierro and Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov that stopped people in their tracks.
One guest sought me out before leaving.
“Pound for pound, one of the best parties I’ve ever been to in Miami. A Bond movie.”
When people stop talking about the décor…
and start talking about how the experience made them feel, you’ve created something memorable.
Now the real competition begins.
Starting today at 1 pm EST, the world’s best players will battle it out at WR Chess Rapid & Blitz Miami. Watch the championship live on the WR Chess YouTube channel with expert commentary, or follow every move in real time on Chess.com, Lichess, ChessBase, and other major chess platforms via DGT electronic boards.
Good luck to every player. Let the games begin.

📍 Faena Hotel, Miami Beach
One of the greatest privileges of working with WR Chess has been spending time with the world’s greatest chess players and helping tell their story beyond the board.
I’ve heard chess described as “a violent sport.” I’ve also heard it’s “beautiful enough to waste your life on.” After watching these players, I understand both.
There is something mesmerizing about watching a grandmaster see possibilities long before anyone else in the room. To watch a game that has helped shape empires played with such brilliance, precision, and discipline gives me goosebumps.
Maybe I should learn to play.
Then again… maybe I already do.
As an entrepreneur, every day is a series of moves. You read the room, anticipate what’s coming, take calculated risks, recover from mistakes, and hope your next move is better than your last.
In this film, Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov, one of the most exciting young players in the world, shares what he sees that his opponents don’t.

Building the crown.
The distance between a sketch in my mind and reality is craftsmanship. 🙏🏾
Built entirely from wood by our master fabricator, this 18-foot crown weighed nearly 1,000 pounds.
Its sweeping curves, sharp points, and oversized finials made the geometry deceptively complex. Every connection, every rigging point, and every lift had to be engineered with precision.
Hours before a single guest arrived, a seasoned rigging crew flew nearly half a ton into position like it weighed nothing.
This wasn’t décor.
It was engineering.
It was craftsmanship.
The moments guests remember are built long before they walk through the doors.

Tournament this week.
2.2 million views and counting. This is what we mean by producing the whole story, not just the event.
We developed the concept and produced this player reveal for WR Chess. It’s a narrative we love telling: elite athletes, a world class stage, and a client who trusts us to build the full arc of a moment, not just the day of.
This week, it comes to life at Faena Miami Beach.
Just a girl on a site visit at the Ziff Ballet Opera House, watching Miami write its next chapter. 🌆
Last week, we opened our home to celebrate Jojo.
We are still smiling.
This is our village.
Jojo, watching you step into this next chapter has been one of life’s greatest gifts. We couldn’t be prouder.

I walk the space before anyone does.
I always do.
There’s something about that moment right before people arrive.
The Bath Club doesn’t need much. It already has such a wonderful soul. We just layered onto it carefully. One of my favorite touchpoints were the sweet peas flown in from Japan the day before, mixed into bougainvillea already in bloom.
The brief was simple: create the right setting for deep, meaningful dialogue and commitment to action for an important board retreat.
After the evening, the client sent me this, along with the most thoughtful gift:
“Nathalie! Words can’t possibly capture how much gratitude and love and awe I have for you and all you do. Today was beyond exceptional. Truly. The perfect setting in all regards for deep and meaningful dialogue and commitment to action.”
Grateful to do this work.
Grateful for my team.
We are the partner you call when the event is the strategy.

The great American conductor, pianist and composer Michael Tilson Thomas has passed away. What an honor it was to work alongside MTT and his husband, Joshua Robison. Being in Michael’s presence shaped me in ways I’m still discovering. The lessons I carried most from him: let the work speak for itself. Be the same person in every room. And never be too important to share your genius.
A protégé of Leonard Bernstein, he envisioned something radical: an orchestral academy, a living laboratory for classical music. What began in a single room at the YMCA in Miami Beach grew into a world-class institution, ultimately housed in a stunning Frank Gehry-designed concert hall. NWS became exactly what he dreamed it would be: a place where the next generation of great musicians could be forged.
As Principal Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra, then Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony for 25 years, and a 12-time Grammy Award winner, Michael moved through the world with extraordinary reach. He was friends with people I had only seen on television or read about in books, and he was generous in his introductions: Mikhail Baryshnikov, the legendary soprano Jessye Norman, Yo-Yo Ma and Audra McDonald, to name just a few.
What I’ll remember most, though, is how accessible he chose to be. I once pitched him the idea of a Salon: an intimate gathering where young patrons could spend real time with him. It was unheard of. People simply did not have that kind of access. Without hesitation, he said yes. He never wanted to be untouchable. He wanted to share, to teach, to inspire.
I won’t share the stories he told me about his time with James Brown. But let’s just say this man was legendary in every sense of the word. I’m also looking back at these photos and laughing, just now noticing those are my dining chairs he’s sitting on. I schlepped those from my home to make the Salon evening beautiful.
New World Symphony gave our family some of its most treasured memories. The last video is Lucca at 4 years old, already convinced she was the conductor playing Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
Rest in peace, Michael. Rest easy with Joshua. So much love and gratitude 💙
The most productive thing I did this spring was nothing. 🌺

Space is where the work begins.
Three days of music, design, and my daughters. Could not turn off my producer’s brain. Still processing.
@Coachella is one of the most sophisticated experiential designs in the world. A temporary city engineered to make strangers feel like they belong to something. The music is the heartbeat. The art installations and scenic design are everything holding it together.
The craft is invisible. That is the whole point.
We had the time of our lives. See for yourself at @missluxefete 🎪

Private dinner.
Board of directors.
Special guests.
Miami done right.
@sunnysmia is that rare room where the food is exceptional and the service anticipates you before you ask.
What also matters to us is what happens around the table.
Even executive protection teams notice. We move in a way that makes their job easier… and if I watch closely, I’ll catch the slightest smile break through.
That’s Luxe Fête.

AMOR FATI. The love of one’s fate. Nietzsche’s formula for greatness. And perhaps, the quiet edge behind successful investing.
The privilege of exceptional clients is learning from them.
Recently, Universa Investments, founded by Mark Spitznagel, gathered over 200 of the world’s leading institutional investors aboard a 280-foot yacht for Universa Evening at Sea, a defining moment of Miami Hedge Fund Week. CIOs, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and institutional decision makers representing over $1T in assets, convened at sea.
An afternoon AI Masterclass oversubscribed, with a waitlist, and still not long enough. A conversation on uncertainty with Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Universa’s Distinguished Scientist, alongside @Bloomberg’s Natalia Kniazhevich. And as the sun set, the vessel became something else entirely.
From Bernoulli’s St. Petersburg Paradox to modern tail risk hedging, the throughline has always been the same.
You do not control the sea. You learn how to navigate it.
At Luxe Fête, we begin by listening. Deeply. Then we build. We produced every dimension of this experience because we understood what it needed to be and who it needed to serve.
They should know.
AMOR FATI.
